Candidate companies are evaluated by three criteria to receive the KOTRA Global Brand: Product quality, Technological advancement and Capacity for Global business. These criteria are highly cited by SCM experts and agents as the most important elements to decide global sourcing.
Evaluation Committee awarding the Seal consists of industrial experts and international trade specialists from such groups as KOTRA, IBK (Industrial Bank of Korea), K-Sure (Korea Trade Insurance Corporation), the Korea Testing Laboratory, scholars and etc.
Product quality is not only evaluated based on a candidate company's obtained quality certifications such as UL, CE, FDA, RoHS, CCC, but also on internationally recognized standardizations such as ISO and quality management system.
Technological advancement is evaluated based on intellectual properties and R&D capabilities. Intellectual properties refer to patents, utility models rights, design rights, trademark rights and etc.
Global business capacity is evaluated based on experience in international trading, and capacity for overseas marketing such as number of qualified staffs and etc. KOTRA's KBCs evaluate market potentials based on possibility to appeal world-wide and/or local markets.
